Dancing queen goes pop
For this new creation, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker shifts the focus of her exploration of the relationship between music and dance back to pop music. With its simple forms, infectious melodies and catchy lyrics, pop gets through to people, connects with them and affects them emotionally. This is not just because of the pleasure that singing and dancing bring, but also because of the almost universal, everyday human experiences and relationships that pop songs express. Creation 2023 not only encourages the urge to dance, it also highlights our need for stories and music we can relate to and identify with.
