Piano in the salon

Tomasz Ritter, winner of the MA Competition for Pianoforte 2024, performs for us on a piano built in Vienna by Conrad Graf in 1833. He starts with the relatively unknown but fascinating Polish composer Franciszek Lessel, a pupil of Haydn’s. He follows this with two Beethoven sonatas, rich in drama and elegance, and then closes with some early Chopin works.
