For this 18th edition of December Dance, international dance makers from Europe, Australia, Asia and South America are gathering in Bruges. The festival is also explicitly choosing to stage the world premieres of Belgian creations. December Dance is thus stepping up its ongoing aim to be a place where new work is supported, seen and discovered. For twelve glorious days, we get to enjoy a wide range of contemporary dance: from pure dance pleasure to performances that chafe and provoke. Themes such as decolonisation, AI and inclusion are tackled, with a view to creating a better world. Join these artists in shaping the future, imagining new worlds and – via dancing – literally setting something in motion. Welcome to December Dance!

On movement and matter - Danceplatform 2025
International visitor programme for professionals
During December Dance 2025, we launch the pilot edition of the international visitor programme On movement and matter – a dance platform focusing on dance today, creators, reflection and transformative practices. We invite (inter)national professionals to discover new projects from Belgium, reflect together and engage in conversation around creative challenges within the dance field. The result is a three-day dance platform (on Thursday 4, Friday 5 and Saturday 6 December) featuring presentations of work in progress, talks, video portraits and networking opportunities.
