A terrestrial world revealed through music and dance

At the crossroads of South American mythologies and beliefs linked to the underworld, Último helecho is a new collaboration between director Nina Laisné and dancer-choreographer François Chaignaud, following their show Romances inciertos, un autre Orlando, created in 2017. This time they are joined by Argentine singer Nadia Larcher and six performers with backgrounds in folk and ancient music. Set against a mineral backdrop, their bodies are moved by the spirit of the Sibyls, awakened by the sound of the sackbut, and transformed by the breath of the bandoneon. Together, they give life to a sensual phantasmagoria, between mysterious depth and flamboyant vivacity. The richness of South American dance and music intertwines with the vestiges of a vanished Baroque world. A total expression, this utopian show brings to life repertoires that are little-known in Europe, revealing all the poetic and resilient power of these folklores. It's a living spelunking, where bodies unearth voices, dances and buried memories.
