UNWTO congress for the first time in hybrid form in Concertgebouw Brugge

UNWTO congress for the first time in hybrid form in Concertgebouw Brugge

And now for something completely different! On 1 and 2 November 2021, Concertgebouw Brugge became the epicentre of gastronomic tourism.

Thousands of viewers at hybrid UNWTO congress

Indeed, the programme included the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) congress, which focuses on international tourism with gastronomy as a catalyst. Over 200 delegates from as many as 40 countries attended the congress. To welcome as many people as possible in the current situation, the congress was organised in a hybrid format for the first time. Online, this allowed several thousand more viewers to connect.

In addition to the keynotes in the Concert Hall, master classes were organised in both Studio 1 and the atmospheric Chamber Music Hall.

Professional support

Organised for the first time in Belgium, this prestigious event was made possible by Tourism Flanders – VISITFLANDERS and Visit Bruges Convention Bureau and was realised in cooperation with The Oval Office. The technical part was in the hands of Phlippo and catering was provided by Cardinal Catering in cooperation with restaurant Tanuki.
