Double bill exploring bodies in transition

During Night of Bits #3, we bring together two distinctive projects in a single evening, in which the dancing body is intertwined with text, imagery and performance. Sentient Flesh is a physically intense solo by the promising young creator and dancer Ella-My Blomdahl. The body functions as a meeting place, between human and non-human, between the earthly and the spiritual. Inspired by the ritual of the Eucharist, the performance asks what happens when we truly make space for something strange or unknown within ourselves. In DUST, you see Urté Groblyté & Judith Dhondt playing with language and movement. Words seem to mould their bodies. The bodies react to one another, collide, deform and seek new forms of their ‘self’. With great attention to the visual and material aspects of their presence, they create a bewildering and imaginary world. The dance becomes a slow transformation of seemingly sculptural bodies.
