New work by British dance’s true iconoclast with music by Satie, Patti Smith én David Bowie

Dancer-choreographer Michael Clark is something of a maverick of British contemporary dance. Since founding his own dance company in 1984, he has toured the world with his provocative, richly visual performances. Clark is convinced that dance can say more than words. In his iconic productions, he combines classic visual imagery with complex, contemporary approaches in an intriguing way. ‘British dance’s true iconoclast’ is famous for his legendary collaborations with artists, fashion designers and music groups, especially those from the camp, punk and rock worlds. Clark has also created works for the Tate Modern Turbine Hall and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Following the success of his animal / vegetable / mineral, during his first visit here in May 2014, he is returning to the Concertgebouw, especially for December Dance, with an ambitious new work.
