Ten dancers in a vast, breathing landscape
Lisbeth Gruwez began her stage career with Jan Fabre. After her highly acclaimed triptych of the ecstatic body, she now wants to change course radically. The Sea Within is a sharp and intense performance, in which Gruwez no longer seeks to order the chaos, but instead allows it to become its own order. The music is by Maarten Van Cauwenberghe, assisted by Elko Blijweert and Bjorn Eriksson. Their electronic sound – with minimalistic synths and a tantalising interplay of frequencies – stimulates all the senses.
