A large-scale tribute to the Basque-Spanish dance tradition

With SONOMA, iconic Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau embraces the art and cultural history of his country: from religious processions to Picasso and Buñuel. It is no coincidence that the title brings together the Greek ‘soma’, which means body, and the Latin ‘sonum’, which means sound. The work overwhelms you like a wave of virtuoso bodies, perfectly choreographed, moving at a furious pace and imbued with a wild energy. SONOMA brings together tradition and modernity in a ballet for the 21st century.
