An ode to the mother and to ballet
The classically trained dancer and performer Emiel Vandenberghe shares the stage with the 82-year-old ballet legend Birgit Keil. In the afterglow of their ballet careers, the focus is on the encounter between generations, between teacher and pupil, between artistic mother and son. In the Afterglow is a futuristic Pietà: a sculpture in motion. With this duet, Vandenberghe balances technical perfection with a deeply personal exploration of the mother figure.
