Tears into Light is a musical journey through melancholy and darkness towards a glimmer of hope. Drawing on Dowland’s iconic Lachrymae or Seven Tears, this new production weaves ‘tears’ with new music by Vladimir Gorlinsky, Sufi poetry, texts by the former season’s guest thinker Fleur Pierets and the age-old breath of the Armenian duduk.
Soundcast, the Concertgebouw’s youth group, has selected seven fantastic performances that young people can attend for just 7 euros. This performance is one of those 7 unmissable shows.
Music by John Dowland (1563–1626), Vladimir Gorlinsky (1984) & traditional Armenian music
