With her Ensemble Gamut!, Finn Aino Peltomaa has devoted herself to mediaeval music for more than a decade. In this programme, she focuses on two Marys: the Virgin full of goodness and wisdom, and Mary of Burgundy with her intelligence and worldly power. Ensemble Gamut! sing about them in mystical Gregorian chant, in Scandinavian folk songs and in age-old incantations recorded in runic characters. Mighty and magical Marys set to music.
