An exuberant ode to the celebrating body

In a fractured world, Chapters of Celebration is a powerful reminder of the universal need to celebrate. The musical thread is La Folía, a 15th-century theme that beats like a heartbeat through the history of classical music. Composer Wouter Deltour adapts various compositions into a contemporary whole, performed by B’Rock. Director Benjamin Abel invites six choreographers to liberate the celebrating body, in ‘chapters’ that blend baroque dance with ballroom, jazz and rave.
