When the Brussels Philharmonic and Ictus merge, the stage erupts. Anthony Braxton's cult work is as exhilarating as a high-speed chase through way-too-narrow streets. That hallucinatory listening trip continues when the orchestra around you draws – as Alvin Lucier puts it – ‘diamond shapes in the air’.
