From Handel to Chevalier de Saint-George
Profits from the South Sea Company and the Royal African Company – both embroiled in the slave trade – gave Handel the freedom to compose. With this ‘adventurers’ programme, B’Rock Orchestra shed light on some dark pages in our music history, but also on one of the first Western composers of colour, Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint-George.
