Our solar system translated into music

In his majestic orchestral suite The Planets, composer and amateur astrologer Gustav Holst takes us on an interplanetary trip. In its seven movements, Holst sketches the characters of the planets: from warlike Mars to peace-loving Venus, from jolly Jupiter to magical Uranus. The final movement, Neptune – the mystic planet – fades to a close with a wordless and invisible female choir. Rare archive images from NASA complete the experience.
