Monthly dance ritual becomes a meeting place
Dans in Brugge Creator Michiel Vandevelde is developing a new, danced rite of passage. How do you dance for the transition from one phase of life to the next? How can a dance ritual contribute to the celebration of change? Vandevelde mainly focuses on hip movements. The hips are associated not only with birth, but also with seduction, with the begetting of new life. Or as Vandevelde puts it: 'Transitional dance is a celebration of the potential of life, and especially of the potential for change during life.'
Would you like to participate? Everyone is welcome, no dance experience required. You will be taught a few simple movement phrases.
