Dancers and organist bring Bach to life in St Walburga Church
Together with organist Bernard Foccroulle and choreographer Radouan Mriziga, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker goes back to Bach. In her Die Kunst der Fuge, inspired by the complexity Bach extracts from a simple theme – twelve notes spread over four bars – she translates this principle into a choreographic composition. In this performance, the threat of global climate catastrophe also resonates. A prospect made all the more ominous by the fact that Bach died before he could finish his final fugue. A loud call for immediate action.
This performance was cancelled and will be replaced by another new creation.
