In this colourful concert, Vox Luminis will explore the renowned Bach family in greater depth. After all, Johann Sebastian was certainly not the first (nor the last) famous scion of the family. Almost every church and every town in Thuringen and its surroundings called on the services of a Bach, usually to play, but sometimes as a composer too. This evening you will hear two of J.S. Bach’s uncles, Michael and Christoph, as well as two better-known masters of the early Baroque: Pachelbel and Buxtehude, both represented by a moving chorale motet.
