Great emotions from a great orchestra

Did you know that jazz legend John Coltrane opened his iconic A Love Supreme with a quote from Sibelius's Fifth Symphony? What a tribute! Alban Berg also paid homage, in his case to the untimely deceased Manon, the young daughter of architect Walter Gropius and Alma Mahler. Berg's Violin Concerto ‘To the Memory of an Angel’ became his most performed work. The London Philharmonic Orchestra do these classics full justice and perfume the whole with new notes by Frederik Neyrinck.
