Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker draws inspiration for GLA55 from the earliest and most radical works of the American composer Philip Glass, who will turn 90 in 2027. She returns to a principle that runs through her entire career: mining minimal abstract material to the furthest extent. Notions of trance, repetitive-obsessive circling and ‘spinning’ are central to this piece in ten movements. Ictus and BL!NDMAN perform the music live and share the stage with six Rosas dancers.
