Concerto Danzante is a choreographic journey through the history of the concerto. Waacking (an urban dance style originating in the Black LGBTQ community of LA in the 1970s) icon Josépha Madoki and choreographer Maud Le Pladec have created a double bill for the 26 dancers of Ballet de Lorraine. Le Pladec translates the tension, dialogue and virtuosity of Bach’s concertos into an abstract poetic dance language. With her distinctly expressive style, Madoki opts for a bold and modern interpretation of Vivaldi’s concertos.
