Musical seduction in triplicate

A bizarre story, intense and unprecedentedly modern music: Wagner and Bartók have more in common than we might expect. Isolde dies a romantic Liebestod, a love death. Bartók's rich Chinese can only die after a young woman's kiss, submissive but loveless. Her job, after all, is to lure wealthy men. In 1926 that caused a scandal, but today you can safely surrender to the seductive sound of the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
