Award-winning film photographer Kris Dewitte has a soft spot for Polaroids. With their limited colour range, lack of detail and poetic softness, these prints deliberately distance themselves from the photorealism of other cameras. With sometimes musing and sometimes surreal images, they turn Dewitte back into the poet or painter he originally was. By dramatically enlarging these little ‘snaps’ full of nostalgia, the photographer-poet presents us with XXL daydreams, like a cosy duvet over the everyday.
