The production The fabled city is based on the Dutch-language podcast De fabelachtige stad, in which six city-dwellers are portrayed. Its starting point is a memorable encounter between humans and animals. In the performance, it is the animals who pick up the thread. Via the musical improvisations of Ruben Nachtergaele and Anneleen Boehme and the live paintings of renowned illustrator Randall Casaer, it is the animals who get the final say in the matter: the state of man and the planet in 2020.
