With Rosas danst Rosas, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker made her definitive breakthrough in 1983 with her company Rosas. Since then, the dance company has never strayed from its meticulous exploration of the bond between dance and music. No wonder Rosas and our arts centre have been dancing an intimate pas de deux for years. That very benchmark of contemporary dance from 1983 is now being revisited, by an unprecedented multicast of no fewer than twenty dancers from five generations. Rosas’ legendary repertoire piece is, incidentally, gaining a fresh new sister this season with GLA55: a creation inspired by the early works of master minimalist Philip Glass.
