Artist Filip Dujardin takes over the Concertgebouw with a spatial installation that nestles into its concrete structure. Perforated red bricks find their way into the building’s niches and corners. Completely in keeping with the season’s theme of ‘metamorphosis’, Dujardin plays with walls and spaces and creates constructions that can be seen as both beginning and end: the Concertgebouw as a platform for constancy, innovation and everything in between. Before this, Filip Dujardin took art photos of the Concertgebouw’s architecture. These could be seen in X - a book about 10 years of the Concertgebouw - and on the cover of the 2017-2018 season brochure.
