Een coproductie van UNU-CRIS & GUSO

In co-production with UNU-CRIS, the Ghent University Symphony Orchestra conducted by Steven Decraene, will present a programme dedicated to youthful energy at the beginning of spring. Rimsky-Korsakov wrote his Russian Easter Festival as an ode to unbridled passion and festivity. Sergei Rachmaninoff finally rediscovered those feelings with the success of his Second Piano Concerto, in which Nikola Meeuwsen will be leading the orchestra. Who better than the young Dutch pianist, winner of last year's Queen Elisabeth Competition and internationally acclaimed for his rich sound palette and intense musical expression, to take this glorious concerto to a higher level?

Finally, Sibelius' Second Symphony is one of the composer's masterpieces. Considered by some to be a special expression of Finnish independence, it is above all music full of depth, emotion and hope for the future.
