In the late Middle Ages, Bruges grew into a rich and cultured city, thanks to its flourishing port and trade. Even nowadays, there is still a cross-pollination between the port and the cultural world. The Concertgebouw has exchanged one of the historical carillon bells from its Bellenspel installation for a ship's bell from one of the port’s fireboats. From now on, a Bruges carillon bell will be ringing out in the port of Zeebrugge! Through the periscope you gaze straight at the Port of Zeebrugge.
