Resident orchestra champion Beethoven's heroes and heroines

Bach and Brahms did not write a single opera. Beethoven wrote only one, but there is no lack of drama in his music. When Napoleon – the original hero of his Third Symphony proclaimed himself Emperor – Beethoven ‘dethroned’ him. And the hero in Egmont literally lost his head. But the real surprise come from star soprano Véronique Gens who gives voice to Beethoven's heroines: elegant ladies with brains and bravura.
