Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker dances the solo from her breakthrough performance
Violin Phase is the third part of Fase, Four Movements to the Music of Steve Reich, the performance that put De Keersmaeker on the map as a choreographer. In it De Keersmaeker traces circular patterns and then shifts them via minimal variations to create a complex interplay of constantly changing shapes and patterns. The minimalist, repetitive circular movements brilliantly enhance the drama of the music.
