Legendary orchestra play an iron repertoire
Immediately after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Pletnev founded an independent orchestra to play the great Russian repertoire. For living legend Pletnev the music of master orchestrator Tchaikovsky no longer holds any secrets! Canadian star violinist Timothy Chooi – second prize winner at the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2019 – proves with the brilliant Violin Concerto no. 3, composed especially for violin virtuoso Pablo de Sarasate, that Saint-Saëns has far more to offer than the Carnaval des Animaux.
