The sound in Beethoven’s ears

Beethoven closely followed the evolution of Viennese keyboard instruments. Jos van Immerseel – who celebrates his 75th birthday this year – celebrates Beethoven’s 250th birthday with the composer’s finest music from the period 1795 to 1804. The central question here is: What did Beethoven think? For this diptych, Van Immerseel chose a copy of a Walter pianoforte, on which everything ‘from the deepest depths to the highest highs’ is exactly how it should be. Among other works, six sonatas will be cast in a fresh light.
