Exploring polyphony with the ‘armed man’

Assisted live by the Cinquecento vocal ensemble, Ignace Bossuyt takes us to a musical country he knows like his own backyard: the polyphony of the ‘Franco-Flamands’, the composers who set out from the Low Countries and conquered the world. In this lecture performance, Ignace scrutinises Dufay's masterpiece Missa L’homme armé, from its melody – which was omnipresent in its day – to the fascinating history of the Lucca Choirbook.
