As ethereal as mezzo- soprano Christianne Stotijn’s performance of Mahler’s Rückert Lieder, so is the earthiness of Robert Schumann’s Third Symphony: The Rhenish. Less ‘Rhenish’ and German is the music of Antwerp composer Bram Van Camp, who, just like Mahler, found inspiration for his latest work in the poetry of Rückert.
