Just like the phoenix rising from its ashes, Debussy’s radically ground-breaking Prelude to the afternoon of a fawn charted a new beginning for Western art music. The orchestral pallet is also a core element in Stravinsky's ballet The Firebird. And Finally, with Eggs & Ashes / Ashes & Eggs, the newest piece of the adventurous Peter Vermeersch likewise fits with the spirit of resurrection.
