Concertgebouw Brugge takes you to the Opéra de Lille. In part 1, a sculptor falls so fervently in love with his own sculpture of the perfect woman that she comes to life. Pygmalion – in which song, dance and theatre are equally important – was one of Rameau's greatest successes. Part 2 is Mondonville’s equally dancing one-acter, in which Venus punishes the nymph Psyché for her beauty. South African choreographer Robyn Orlin directs these two enchanting myths about love.
