The British Consone Quartet - just named BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists 2019-2021! - conquer hearts and ears with the fine sound of classical masterpieces played on gut strings. Beethoven is thus a perfect choice for these talented youngsters, especially his First Symphony: a generous salute to Mozart and Haydn, which was also the start of Beethoven's intrepid adventure with the symphony.
