A story of love and hope in times of hate and incomprehension
Director Jan Lauwers met Israeli war veteran Elik Niv and talked to him at length about his military activities and his later development as a dancer in the safe world of the arts. During their conversations, Zaventem airport was attacked by two suicide bombers. All the good is a fictional self-portrait, interwoven with autobiographical elements, drawn on the one hand from the life of Elik Niv and on the other from Lauwers’ life with Grace Ellen Barkey and their children in their home: an old bakery and workshop in the much-maligned Molenbeek.
No December Dance without doing a little dance ourselves. After the Belgian premiere of All the good, we throw a closing party in the Entrance Hall, to which everyone is kindly invited, even without a ticket for the performance.
