Two pieces about the utopia of synchronicity
In the two pieces One and Double Points: Two, Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten investigate the utopia of synchronicity.
In One Greco confronts the compelling tones of Ravel’s Boléro. For Greco and Scholten, this music is a most vehement expression of themes such as predestination and irreversibility. By resisting and responding to the compelling patterns it imposes, Greco explores the limits of the dancing body.
Two presents different aspects of duality, and the emergence of opposition and reciprocity. It’s a duet in which the dancers explore the consequences of two people sharing the same space.
