datamatics [ver.2.0] is the newest audio-visual concert in Ryoji Ikeda’s datamatics series. In this project the Japanese composer investigates how the invisible digital data in which our current world is steeped, can be observed. datamatics uses pure data as a source for visuals and sounds. Ikeda combines these abstract representations of matter, time and space in a breathtakingly perfect piece which challenges and explores the thresholds of our perceptions.
